The twilight recedes

and we witness the dawn of a new world

The History tells us the world was once warm and verdant, the whole of its surface teeming with life. The Godswar changed all this: dark sorcery laid waste to the earth, scorching the land with fire and acid, turning day into night, and slaughtering whole nations.

We fortunate few, who have survived the Twilight Years, tending to our Oases, enduring the onslaught of wildlings, orcs, and all manner of fell creatures, and maintaining the Lights and the hopes of the ancients, we have now been called to restore the earth.

After these many centuries, the sun grows brighter with each summer, and its rays bless us with warmth that dozens of generations never felt. Our rangers report that new passes are opening through the glaciers, and new streams flow through the deserts. Green things now thrive beyond the reach of our Lights, and we carry out the Commandment to plant and cultivate and make the waste ground grow.

Today we complete History. We open the Vault of Summer, sealed through generations, and take up the legacy left us by our ancestors. Today we mark the end of the Twilight and the dawn of a new day.
